Ford 56 Starter
Hi Guys,
My starter drive has broken (see attached image). is this a suitable replacement? https://www.dennis-carpenter.com/car...do-not-twist-d It doesn't quite look the same but appears to be correct. I have a ecz-c 312 y block from a tbird in a 1956 ford victoria. Cheers Geoff |

Re: Ford 56 Starter
It's correct if you have have a Fordomatic transmission. Manual cars use a different drive, identifiable by 2 bolts that hold it together.

Re: Ford 56 Starter
Interesting post......I changed my '56 Victoria 312 engine from FORDOMATIC to stick shift using a "parts car" as a donor. I guess I was too dumb then (back in '64) to know about the starter differences. I just used to original starter and it worked fine for 10 years and more than 100K miles. Who knew?......

I think I'll gamble and just get that one. I'll update here as I go.
