Default Pickup seat spring I.D. help

Hey guys, I went and looked at a 36 pickup that was getting rodded and it had a seat in it. I told him I was interested in it. He removed it and sent me pics but it does not look right. I thought the bottom was on wood. Also I thought that the upper cushion had rails that came out and went in to slots in the cab. I saw this in the truck and it looked correct but I didn't look real close. Am I right in assuming these springs are not correct? Does anybody know what they are out of?

First pic is seat cushion, second is back rest.

I don't know what it is but it's not a '36 Ford pickup seat. It should have wood as you say and 3 holes on each side for adjustment.

Yeah, I was just wondering if the wood was missing?

looks like 46/47 style. back was attached with a hinge so it would swing out from the seat cushion. seat cushion--does it have any screw holes on what would be the back where it would attach to seat frame?

I do not know if it has holes but judging by the braces, they are the same on both so I imagine they are a matched set. Looks like I will pass on them. Too bad because he only wanted 100.00 for both. Thanks for your help guys.

Sorry to bring up such an old thread but I went today to see the truck in the junkyard. Guy said it was a '40. It sadly was missing the seat. I measured the seat pan and it was practically identical to my 35. I know it had a wooden base because it had the locator pins. The gas tank was present but I do not see how it would change the bottom seat spring. I think a "big truck" seat could work. Any more thoughts?

cabs are the same on pickups and big truck, so, seats would also be the same. In fact, my 35 cab came off of a big truck.

I agree with you Lawson on 35's. This was either a 40 or 41 1ton with the gas tank under seat. Do all 35-41 ford trucks, regardless of size share the same seat? Give or take a few differences as to mounting?
