Pickup seat spring I.D. help
Hey guys, I went and looked at a 36 pickup that was getting rodded and it had a seat in it. I told him I was interested in it. He removed it and sent me pics but it does not look right. I thought the bottom was on wood. Also I thought that the upper cushion had rails that came out and went in to slots in the cab. I saw this in the truck and it looked correct but I didn't look real close. Am I right in assuming these springs are not correct? Does anybody know what they are out of?
First pic is seat cushion, second is back rest.

Re: Pickup seat spring I.D. help
I don't know what it is but it's not a '36 Ford pickup seat. It should have wood as you say and 3 holes on each side for adjustment.

Re: Pickup seat spring I.D. help
Yeah, I was just wondering if the wood was missing?

Re: Pickup seat spring I.D. help
looks like 46/47 style. back was attached with a hinge so it would swing out from the seat cushion. seat cushion--does it have any screw holes on what would be the back where it would attach to seat frame?

Re: Pickup seat spring I.D. help
I do not know if it has holes but judging by the braces, they are the same on both so I imagine they are a matched set. Looks like I will pass on them. Too bad because he only wanted 100.00 for both. Thanks for your help guys.

Re: Pickup seat spring I.D. help
cabs are the same on pickups and big truck, so, seats would also be the same. In fact, my 35 cab came off of a big truck.

Re: Pickup seat spring I.D. help
I agree with you Lawson on 35's. This was either a 40 or 41 1ton with the gas tank under seat. Do all 35-41 ford trucks, regardless of size share the same seat? Give or take a few differences as to mounting?
