55 Merc Carb Specs
Finally located a carb kit from a local supplier here in Spokane, but no spec sheet was included. Does anyone have the correct spec for for the float setting? It is the original Holley 2140 series 2 barrel on this 55 Merc Parklane w/ a 292. We've looked at several books and have several different specs. ??? May have to resort to trial and error? Thanks in advance for any help. <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |

Re: 55 Merc Carb Specs
that carb was used on 1954 models, 1955 used the 4000 model, on the 2140 idle screws turned out 1 1/4 turns, when the float shuts off the fuel there should be 1/2" form the gas to the top of the carb main body, turn engine over till float shuts off fuel take top off of carb then measure <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |

Re: 55 Merc Carb Specs
Thanks for the info. Interesting about the model of the carb by year. The carb is the original and the owner is also the original. Ford must have had some inventory left over into 55. <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |
