Default 1937 Torque Tube

How do you remove the center rubber bearing sleeve in a '37 torque tube?
Want to use this torque tube in a '35 Thanks Mike

On my 39 I used a length of all thread rod and slid through bearing with large washer and nut and used larger washer and nut on other end to pull it out. Works for installation too.

flathead34: Read about center bearings here. The OEM Ford bearings are hard to find and very expensive but, there is an after market version.

Be sure to read all of this post. It shows how to reuse the OEM center bearing.
Open and keep scrolling down and you will see how to recast the rubber around the bearing.

That sounds like a good method that I will try.
I had asked the question here on how to remove the center tt bearing some years ago, and was told to drive it out using a section wooden broom handle, a 2x3, or a length of heavy wall pvc pipe. I don't recall getting it out that way, and wound up finding another tongue tube for my project the did not have a center bearing.

BTW, Skip Haney, in Punta Gorda, Fl sells a repro version of the center bearing Incase you can't find an NOS version.
