i have put in 4 ring washers on the water pump with the 180 degrees apart and still leaks.. i dont notice any scarring of the shaft. should i tr y 2 more washers or give up and buy a leakless water pump? thank you

If you mean packing, first I don't know how you can get that many in there, but maybe there is a crack in the pump body.
