Hmmmm. 570 CCA vs 800 from an Optima. And they say an Optima is expensive at "almost $200".

I've purchased a number of batteries from Battery Central and have been very pleased with fit and function. With only one exception, they have all been the Optima within the Ford case. A bit more costly initially but they last for MANY years beyond what an acid filled battery does. By far the best deal if you plan on keeping your car.

Mike,

I agree that is an ideal solution, but unfortunately, that option isn't available for the earlier V8s with different battery sizes where the available Optima batteries won't fit into an empty Ford battery box.

You are correct of course. I should not have assumed the original poster was inquiring in regard to his '41.

Don’t you think those are the same, that the one sold by Jegs is made by Battery Central?

I ordered one from Battery Central last winter. Had to wait three months for it.

But no regrets. Expensive, but sure looks nice in an engine compartment trying to look correct. I painted the Ford logo a flat gold.
