Engine front support flat spring
Hi,
I am trying to pick a flat spring for my late 1931 Tudor. I hope to have this car judged in a National Meet someday. My candidates as of now are: 1 is a an obvious repro. 2 is the one from my car. The engine was removed and rebuilt before I purchased the car. so the spring may have been replaced then. 3 & 4 seem to match the picture on page 582 of the July-August Service Bulletins. The front beads are different lengths. Are any of these original or should I keep looking? Thanks, Ray |

used during production. The first spring was 1-3/16"" wide with a 5/8” hole in the center. The second introduced in April 1929. added approximately 3/16" to the front edge, Increasing the total width to 1-3/8”, In August 1929 the center hole was changed to 15/32” In June 1930 the hole was increased to 17/32" In July 1931 a flange on the underneath side of the center hole and a bead on the front top were added. In late 1931 tile auxiliary spring was either stamped "FORD USA” or left unmarked.
