Default Flag painting on Model A tires

On a recent purchase of a 1930 Roadster, we found the small flags on the sides of the tires were painted blue and yellow. Goodyear. Somewhere we have read that they came that way. Does anyone know if the flags on white wall tires were also painted??

Thanks !!

I have talked to several people who are interested in antique tires in general for various vehicle applications and some Model A guys knowledgeable on the subject of tires. At this point, I don't think anyone has turned up either an original brochure, flier, catalog, photo, etc that shows or lists a Goodyear whitewall for 1928-31. If someone has something, please post it.

That being said, if you want painted flags on your WWs, go for it.

Steve, I have been told the same thing, ...and that the 19" Firestone had whitewalls on both sides.(??).

I understood the same thing Brent, all whitewalls early on were double sided, at least to WWII. In fact the EFV8 Club states in their judging standards, if cars don't have double whites in certain years, its a mandatory deduction.
