RHD Pedal location???
Now would this be the 1st RHD Model A with acc pedal to the right of the brake pedal instead of between the pedals????? Was achieved buy cutting offset round pedal tops , rotating 1/2 a turn & re welding, this gave enough room to constuct a new acc pedal mount & hardware, I have never seen a RHD one before with acc there. & always woundered if could be done, I hate driving with acc leg tucked in between the pedals, Thats one advantage a left hooker has in that its easier to drive with acc pedal in normal place, However us RHD guys do have the steering wheel on the right side??
Off on the snow run this weekend, in my LHD Vicky. ( its got a manifold heater ) Derek from a frosty but dry Mainland.NZ |

Re: RHD Pedal location???
A fellow club member has done it here on his ex South Africa 30 pheaton.A real neat job done by heating and bending the brake pedal to the left and doing the same to the gas pedal. No cutting or welding. I like my centre gas pedal,no bother at all only downside is that the velcro strap on my sandals sometimes get hooked up on the brake pedal but I can live with that.
John in yet another cloudless hot summer morning I have a bad feeling about this it,s too good to be true England |

Nothing wrong with the 'riginal setup, your'e just not as flexible as you used to be... you must be going soft since you went on the pension... |

Re: RHD Pedal location???
John's comment reminded me of an incident on our last tour, when I noticed there was a few vehicles starting to build up behind me, during a very hilly and winding section of road. As I came round a corner I noticed a short layby, so pulled in and tried to lift my foot of the gas, and suddenly discovered the accelerator button had wedged in an unknown crack in my sandal and my foot was firmly stuck against the brake pedal. I had no option but pull back into the traffic and slowly undo my sandal a pull in off by hand. Not good for the heart or the nerves!
