"Green Mile" paddy wagon
Used in the movie "The Green Mile"
Flea bay #290450713901... Is this a repo of some sort or is it a for-real 29 paddy wagon? |

Re: "Green Mile" paddy wagon
I saw that thing. I THINK it is another make, Chevrolet possibly (solid wheels)? with a Ford emblem on the radiator with some other modifications. Looks like model T fenders. This is just my opinion. I saw it and was pretty infactuated with what it could be...and eventually gave up.
The box is studio made I'm pretty sure. Interesting that the type on the box doesn't match up with their 'studio' picture (one has serifs (little feet on the letters) and the other is san-serif (without the little feet)). Anyway, if it was used in the movie, which is probably was, then the lettering looks to have been repainted. Pretty cool old truck, whatever it is. |

Re: "Green Mile" paddy wagon
Looks like someone cobbled together bits and pieces of cars. It has a 30-31 steering wheel, late 30's pedals, maybe an A radiator with a doge/chevy shell?

Re: "Green Mile" paddy wagon
It's been repainted, look at the location of the word "COLD".
The headlights in the film still look like sealed beam mods while the vehicle does not. In the headon film still, the rear of the wagon looks to be wider than the front, the headon picture of the vehicle seems all the same size.

29 RPU; "Chevrolet possibly (solid wheels)?"
Interestingly my old boss in Parma, Michigan had a 1923[?] 'Chevy, before Chevy was Chevy', with a turtle deck back end that had factory plywood solid wheels. It ran well. I believe this was before GM purchased Chevy. It was his anut's car, she bought used before 1930. The truck is worth about $8,000 IMHO skip. |

Re: "Green Mile" paddy wagon
Dan...my baby is so ugly that I once took her to a pet store and they tried to charge me when I started to leave with her!
..and I'm with you...there's some car out there fro everyone...no matter what their tastes may be. ...and some folks taste is ALL in their mouth. Still...I'd bet this would be a fun truck to drive around town. More of a hot rod than most of us would like in the original car side of this hobby...and more of an original car than most in the hot rod side would prefer. I'd like to own it...just fer fun...

Re: "Green Mile" paddy wagon
My baby was so ugly she had red marks all over her from people touching her with a ten foot pole.... I won't even mention that pork chop bone around her neck just so the dog would play with her... I know, That's an old one. but then again I'm old too.
