The '56 Meteors were that light green. Valve covers were black and air cleaner housing was gold/brass (?).

Searched a few places on forum and hundreds of photos on whether the water pump was painted along with the block from the factory? I have 56 Country Sedan 312 and going with Seymour's Ford Red. I also see the front engine bracket was Ford Red as well. My 56 shows signs engine bracket was Ford Red along with the main generator bracket. Anyone have an actual picture of an original engine color scheme? I'm going in circles trying to determine what was factory.

Doing research for '55/'57 T-Birds, not the full-sized Fords, this is what I've come across...
The engines were painted with the water pump on and the bellhousing for a standard transmission too (but not the automatic bellhousings).

Thumbs up Re: original paint y blocks

Correct. Complete engine assy shot red including front steady rest bracket.

Rocker covers black (w/decal-mania), accessory drives and brackets black and argent ACL. If PS, the reservoir was argent.

With complete engine assembly shot red makes sense. Like the generator bracket that is attached to the timing cover would be red because part of the assembly cover bolt down. Interesting I did not see any red paint residue on my oil pump although the pick up tube was red, could mean it was replaced at some point.

When they are final assembled @ engine assy, they are painted as an assembly. Accessories are then added afterwards for how the engine intends to be used (application).

If the block/heads were blue, it possibly indicates a FORD AUTHORIZED REMAN as they dictated the rebuilds to be blue. I have no idea of how it was done in CAN.
