Wheel ID please
Iv got a pile of 28/29 21s and amongst them I found these 4 wheels with no rolled edges, I was told they where for a late 29s Sedan Delivery.
Can someone set me straight. Thanks. |

Interesting...Very interesting Elwood!
A Ford experimentAtion maybe? I wonder, if all cleaned up, there are any wheel ID markings on them? Pluck Last edited by 329s; 04-08-2012 at 11:21 AM. |

Re: Wheel ID please
Maybe transitional between the 21" and 19" testing the edge forming in service.

Re: Wheel ID please
They are experimental wheels manufactured by Ford during 1928-29.

Re: Wheel ID please
Apparently very rare. I have seen one or two at a well known parts shop near Atlanta. He did not want to sell them.

Re: Wheel ID please
There's a 28 touring in our club with wheels like these. I can't remember the story, but the car was either assembled in S. America or S Africa. We're thinking the wheels were local manufacture rather than US made.
