Window glass replacement.
I am replacing the rear right back window on my 31 Fordor murry model. The window seems to move out of the channel when lowered. I installed the window rubber bedding and coated it with a little oil. Anyone have any advice on how to seat the window into the regulator channel it doesn't hold in the channel when I crank the window down. I was thinking of using a rubber seal.
Thanks for any suggestions! Ron.

Re: Window glass replacement.
The oil is probably your problem.
Paul in CT Should be a tight fit channel, bedding tape, glass. |

Re: Window glass replacement.
totally agree. oil is a bad choice for holding. rubber cement would make more sense.

Re: Window glass replacement.
The channel should pinch the glass tight enough to hold assuming you have a correct bedding. If using cork it comes in several thicknesses
Also check to see if the glass slides freely in the channels without the regulator Another thing is to see that the regulator is moving straight up If not it could be causing the glass to bind which would increase the problem Oil not good Last edited by Oldbluoval; 12-09-2020 at 04:42 PM. |
