Default Holley 94 vacuum line fitting

Guys,
Is there such thing as an oversize brass fitting for the vacuum line connection on a Holley 94 carb as used on 48 and up truck motors and 49 up car motors? This is the port for the hard line going to the advance can on the distributor.

My port looks fine, threads look good, but none of my three good hard lines with associated brass fittings thread up. Its like the port and threads in the carb are one size bigger than normal.

This is on a spare carb I just had rebuilt. Ofcccourse I only noticed when I went to install the carb...

Thanks in advance.

Are you sure you have the correct fitting on the line? New ones can be had from NAPA, although not usually stocked.

It's fair to say it's been opened up.

Can you carefully repair the over size hole with JB Weld?
Sounds crazy but could you use Teflon tape or RTV sealer on the fitting?
Could you first insert a very thin piece of thin walled plastic tubing with some Permatex sealer in the hole and then screw in the OEM fitting a little at a time making the threads as it goes in ?

Actually, "Loc-Tite" makes a product just for repairing stripped threads. It is an epoxy and comes with a small tube of a release agent, that allows you to get the joint apart after the epoxy hardens. I used it to repair some stripped threads (temperature sending unit) in the aluminum intake manifold in my Corvette shortly after I got it in 1987 and it's still holding. Unlike most products, it's probably better now then it was then, given the advances in chemistry.

Thanks tubman. I learned something new.
Sounds like the product you mentioned would work.
Here's a video about it.

Or you can send "Charlie ny" a private message on the Barn and see if he has a spare bowl for your carb.
