Default horns

I have a pair of 47 Ford trumpet horns that did not work. I adjusted the points and now they work but do not sound good. Very sick sounding. What else should i look for when i take them apart Thanks Bill

Clean the points good and it should sound like it should.

I would use a point file on the points. Then i would try one horn at a time blowing. If they blow just hook 6 volts on one and while it is blowing adjust it to where you like the sound. Then do the other horn the same. If this does not work i would try to find a horn rebuilder. If you find one please post him on the Barn.

These horns should both sound different, 1 has a high pitch, the other a low pitch. Individually, they sound awful, but together when correctly 'tuned', sound great. the adjustment of the points determines the tone.
