Will single sensor kit be enough to tune engine. I have a 59ab with new stromberg 97 and having trouble to tune. Looking to tune it runs rough and fouling out plugs bad. Thanks everyone

Why did you use a Stromb. when a #59 94 is correct carb for that engine. Is this a new-new one or a rebuilt orig. Who rebuilt it if so. ??? ken ct.

If there's something wrong with the carb that a jet change won't fix, Don't forget... Best warranty on the planet.

Dont know where he got it Max or what it was new or rebuilt. If it was yours i know you will take care of it. Sometimes new to some people means a carb from another car[like a spare of someones]??? Could even be a used one but to them its a "new one" not the old one. LOL. you know what i mean.!! ken ct.

Ok guys the 97 is new out of the box. There was a 97 on it but tired. I guess it could have been a 94. I put a new 97 on just for the pure fact summit racing is a block away and figured I could drive the truck faster

Doesn't matter where you bought it.
I'm the sole USA warranty guy for the English 97's.
Holler if there's a problem.

I have an original 94 I would like to get rebuilt. I guess that might be a proper carb for that owner.

Why does this 97 foul out plugs so bad

First thing to check is fuel pressure.
Confirm it's 2 to 2-1/2 lbs.
If that checks out, you may want to go to .044" main jets.

The next thing to check for is dirty fuel which has contaminated that ball valve inlet not allowing it to seat properly.

If it is fuel-fouling plugs, a jet change would have to be in the magnitude of SEVERAL sizes to fix it. The stock .045 jets will cover a very wide range of operation.

Would this seat cause the truck to stutter or react funny once in awhile. It feels like it shuts down for a split second and runs after that.

I have 3/4 webber cam. 30over bore. Rebuilt dizzy new coil and ballast resistor. I bought the 97 because the 94 was very tired. I definitely have filter before my pump. I guess crud still could get by.

Putting a filter before the pump, supposed the FP diaphram is falling apart it will still get to the carb as the filter is upstream from the pump ??? ken ct.

We use an inovate air fuel ratio meter .
weld a bung in the exh pipe up by the manifold, hang the gauge on the dash and read out the a/f ratio as you drive, you can get it to run as sweet as this way.
they are available from summit and others

I bought the portable Innovate kit at amazon, cheaper than Summit at the time. I have a 97 on my model A and it was easy to jet . I could not read the plugs reliably. I will use it on my AV8 also.Real easy to set up and use,but numbers could be bigger for my old eyes.
