Default 1940 bumper on a 36?

Just curious if anyone knows if a 1940 ford rear bumper will mount on a 1936 using 1935-36 bumper brackets? are the brackets the same through 1940?

I would not think so. Most every year bumper arms are different in some regard. Bolt holes are spaced differently. You could possibly use 40 arms, but can't really say. 35 and 36 bumper arms are not the same; they are different for each year.
