If it were any good it would have been heard of by now.I can only think of one car that had 2 coils and that was a 33 Parkard.
With 6 volt it would need more power then one coil.Try it and see if it works.Does the rotor have 2 pointer 180 degs apart contacts.Thats what Packard had.

Show a picture if you can. Does it have a Mallory ID plate on it??
There are lots of variants of dual point Mallorys, but I have never heard of a dual coil one.
Lots of big/expensive '30's cars used dual coil, and in the fifties there were DC hotrod distributors based on OEM ones (Including the Zephyr) and also pure aftermarket ones. Iy yours is a Mallory, it is something unusual.
Mallorys back into the thirties, at least, all carried an engraved/etched side plate with Mallory name and model info.

I hate the whats it worth posts but this one is a good one to help everyone out just a bit.
Whats it worth ? Beats me but i have one hanging on the wall for the flathead for $ 175 completely rebuilt and ready to run.
Now how does it work???
Mallory made a few of these dual contact systems called mag spark and rev poles model Mallory YCs usually.
The dual contacts each were wired by themselfs and often went to a single "rev pol" coil with a dual primary ignition coil. Each contact ran ( on a v8) 4 cylinders.
The ideal was a longer dwell for each cylinder by spliting the coil build up time using dual contacts.
They worked very well in the early 50s and 60s as the other offerings were pretty slim.
I have some of almost all the mallory systems ever made and work on them each and every week.

Back to whats it worth? Why sell it , lets recondition it and use it on a flathead, cant beat the coool look.!!!!
