Default Model A bug bites again

Late last summer I bought a very used original '29 Tudor and throughout the winter I learned about maintenance issues and the general ins and outs of the vehicle. A few weeks ago I decide to sell the '29 and my '51 F1 and I purchased a restored '31 Coupe. Just adding a few finishing touches to her (installing engine pans this weekend, wiring the electric wiper motor, etc) but so far she's an awesome car. Great way to start off the summer! See pics below.

Sharp. Ditch that Air maze for something safer.

As soon as I install the engine pans (tonight or tomorrow) that filter is coming off and I'm running without a filter.

Thanks,

Wally

I wouldn't go that far. I think filters are good. Air-mazes are not. I know that is a hot topic, but all manufacturers went with air filters for a reason.

I have two that I got on eBay with K&N filters. They seem to work well, are not hanging down and don't seem to restrict air flow to any significant degree that I have noticed.

Nice Coupe Wally!! Congrats. Like your garage too!

Hardest thing to do sometimes is give up older iron you've had to make room for the new.

Thanks everyone for your comments. This is a weird experience for me since it's the first restored vehicle that I've ever purchased (I feel a little guilty, or lazy, it's weird). I know I could have restored the '29 (and I built the '51) but just because I can do something doesn't mean I have to do it. Still though, I don't think I will ever enter her in a car show because I just bought her this way (of course I'm not a big car show guy to begin with). Does this sound crazy to anyone? My wife wanted me to slow down and not work all the time so I decided to buy this car.

BE U TI FUL car. I don't usually like the paint jobs that are not original colors, but this one is darn good choices. Really jazzes her up.

Sprecher, what is so unsafe about the airmaze? Cause it will hold gas fumes?

Not interested in starting anything but I'd like to hear the opinion and something to back it up. I put one on my '30 Tudor.

Thanks,

JackD

Haven't investigated that yet, obviously a power lead but not sure if it's switched or why it's there. I think the builder made a mistake with white wheels, makes the tires look dirty, should have been off white/beige wheels (match the tan interior). I might break them down, send them out and have them powder coated over the winter.

Nice Coupe.....Is the blue a factory color? We are originally form Saratoga Springs / Albany, NY area. Not as much cold winter snow here in SC. Because of the weather, we get a chance to take the A out and or ride our Harley's quite often here.
