49 Ford Sedan floor
Talking to a friend that has a 49 Ford tudor sedan about changing out the tranny. I thought they had (like many cars back then) a panel above the tranny in the floor that was removeable. Before we get started on this, I thought I would ask, is there a removeable panel in the floor or is the floor solid? Thanks in advance

Re: 49 Ford Sedan floor
Should have a removeable panel but I don't see any need to remove anything from the floor to remove the tranny. Eight bolts on the crossmember (4 each side) 2 that hold the tranny to the crossmember, 4 that hold the tranny to the bellhousing, speedo cable and of course the drive shaft. Don't forget to support the rear of the engine. Forgot clutch linkage and shifter rods.

Re: 49 Ford Sedan floor
Didn't Ford stop with the removeable floor section starting with 49?
