Not too rare; it is the same as Fenton bar the nameplate.

Fenton made a bunch of these with different name plates in the center like Brian mentioned. I would pay more than $25 then the regular Fenton going rate, which isn't much.

Never seen an Almquest intake. I'd say it was rare. I did have an Almquest cam back in the 50's. I like super dual intake no matter what the brand is. Walt

Walt: Sometimes you surprise me since you have excellent engine knowledge. These two pots were fairly common in the '50s...

I had this one for a while .

It says Almquist in the center. It is similar but not the same as yours . I sold it for $250 I think and it was basically like new . The later style manifolds ( 49 to 53 ) with the holes for the breather and road draft tube to not seem to be as desirable as the earlier ones . This is why I sold it , I didn't like the look of the holes up front for my application .

They work best with 2" risers under the carbs.

I remember the Almquist ads in the "little" books. PA company (at the time" I think, used to make downdraft manifolds for A's also, also magic things to increase gas mileage.

Wait, $2,800 or $280? If $2,800, I hope you took the buyer out to dinner. Those are just an Fenton with lipstick on them.

Good for you if you really got over $2K for it.
