Default Rough Idle:

My 1940 Ford started running rough at idle and the idle speed dropped also.It runs fine all but this.I suspect the idle tubes are stopped up!All of this started when I installed new fuel tank.Is there an easy way to clean out carb without removing and taking apart.I had trash in the fuel pump bowl and screen and now I suspect something got in the carb?Thought I was doing good by getting new tank and now I got this problem.

I'd take it apart. Only possible way is spraying air through fuel line I'd say. Unless it's taken apart you dont know if itll clog right back up or not. Some of the sediment may have separated in the bowl or something and may come back and clog it again after you try the quick and easy cleaning methods.

Be sure to install a fuel filter near the tank and another near the carb.
Best to take carb apart and clean it. Bowl is probably full of sediment.

If your carb is a Holley 94 type, it's also possible to be a ruptured power valve if it smells rich and stinky by the tailpipe.

Well here is update on my problem.I pulled carb off and disassembled. There was a lot of sediment in bowl from old fuel tank I guess.I cleaned all parts and assembled back together and installed back on.She purrs like a kitten now and I installed a filter before the fuel pump at firewall.Hopefully all my problems are solved since I got a brand new tank.

Thanks for letting us know how the problem was resolved ! It sounds like the idle system picked up some contamination.
