Default auxiliary gas tank

Is anyone using a auxiliary gas tank along with the stock one? If so, how did you tie them together? My Tudor came with a 9 gallon one mounted under the rear of the car and am thinking about hooking it up.
Thanks.

You'd need a shutoff valve in the gas line on the rear tank, and an electric fuel pump to push the gas to the carb, or to refill the gravity tank.

11 gallons (10 in a /29) is more than 200 miles at 50 MPH. That's roughly four hours between "mandatory" pit stops. A reserve gas tank would push the car's range beyond my own capacity.
I'd need to invest in a motorman's friend!

Over here, when travelling the outback, 200 miles is sometimes not enough to get you from one fuel stop to the next. How about a picture of the extra tank. I'd like to install one instead of carrying jerrycans.
Tom has it right. Shutoff valve and electric pump.

We have the same problem here. Most everyone carries a couple gallons extra. And quite often we have to use it. A built in reserve tank would be just the ticket. Had thought about trying to locate a "B" tank, but not sure how that would work on an "A".

My friend has the pump that moves gad from the spare tank to the gravity tank. He has good luck with it. He gets about 300 miles from the two tanks. Wayne

A friend with a 'Hot Rod' has saddle tanks on his '30 sedan, one on each side behind the splash guards.

Thanks for all the replies. The car also has a trunk on the back, which hides the tank. Without that, I don't think that it would look good with just the tank.
It had a hose running from the tank through a electric fuel pump into the inside of the car to a tee between the shut off valve and fire wall. Both tanks are sharing the same valve. Doesn't seem right to me, but maybe I am missing something. I am running a 48 on a downdraft with stock tank and they told me that it runs out of gas at about 1/4 to a 1/2 of tank. It's a 30 tudor.

If it "runs out of gas" from the aux tank, it may be that the pick up in the tank is too high,

if your stock tank is running out of gas at 1/4, you can easily adjust your fuel gauge, it is just a matter of bending the rod inside the tank, hold it down with a rod and pull up on the metal just before/at the float and you will see the indication inside the cab drop when you release everything. I empty the tank to adjust, you can adjust it to your idea of empty or give yourself a little reserve by having it show it is empty a little early.
If it is your reserve tank showing empty early it all depends on how it is set up.

The problem that I have with the stock tank is that my down draft intake and carb sit to high to gravity feed all the gas out. I would like to keep the gravity feed instead of a electric fuel pump running all the time. Less to go wrong. I thought because the auxiliary tank and electric fuel pump are already there, that I would hook it up to refill the stock tank, but not sure how to plumb it. I guess that I will need some sort of one way valve to keep the stock tank from draining back to the auxiliary tank as it sits lower. I also believe that I would have to install a pressure regulator to keep the carb from flooding while transferring from rear tank.
If I knew that a stock B pump would clear the header, then maybe I could try that, but I think that they are hard to find.
