Re: cut off switch
I mounted the lever type on the top frame rail right next to the battery. The location is such that I cut a 1/2 circle notch in the floorboard at the edge of the battery access hole and the battery cover plate covers it. Flip up carpet & plate to operate.

Re: cut off switch
As stated by Bruce and others , try to get the "good switch" and mount inside the car.
Check out Cole Hersee ( Little fuse co.) on line for a variety of options, short , long shaft, etc. to fit floor board and other config's. |

Re: cut off switch
Very similar to what we did in the truck Ray, but we used the other type of switch. Easy to reach, and out of view under the mat. It's mounted in the existing hole it the frame cross member just in front of the seat riser with access through a small hole (3") drilled in the floorboard

Re: cut off switch
I've been off FB for a while but here's my take. Mount the switch in the seat riser if your A has one and switch the ground. Anything moving around under the seat will not create sparks when up against the connections. I've seen holes drilled in freshly restored firewalls and wires cobbed together. Keep it simple and add an extra ground cable to the transmission or flywheel housing.

Re: cut off switch
Follow up:
I removed my green knob cut off switch and replaced it with a side sliding knife switch that opens and closes horizontally. Due to the very little space between the top of the battery posts and the floorboards this side switch works great. http://www.amazon.com/WirthCo-20108-...irthco+battery Last edited by old31; 04-11-2016 at 04:40 PM. |
