Default T Engine swap

Hi:
Have 2 questions
1) have a later T engine with wide brake pedal (wider brake band) can I swap this engine to a 23 (narrow bands)
2) does anyone other than Mac's sell bands all they got are Kevlar?

You can put the later engine in, but will need to make new upper floorboards to account for the pedals shifting over some - they had a different spacing but all the floor plates are available from the vendors.

One friend also went so far as to weld diamond pedal heads onto the later pedals to make it look more correct but I prefer the wider pedals - I'm not sure if the earlier pedals will work in the hogshead, but I'm sure someone else will know.

Good luck

Because of the spacing and bends the low and brake pedals will not work on the earlier hogs head. Only the reverse stayed the same. You can swap the whole engine but as stated above you have to make new floor boards. They all mount in the same.
Lang's, Snyder's etc
google "ford model T band lining"

I have Kevlar bands in my cars, one set has been in there 15yrs. so far with turbo 400
clutch discs I love them. I wore out a set of tires and the bands are still going strong.
You just have to be careful not to overheat them.

Had a '23 Touring with a '27 engine in it. The emergency brake lever might have to be bent outward a bit as it'll hit the low/high pedal when all the way forward.

That is a good point Charlie - might be why I've seen the diamond-heads welded on?

I too run Kevlar - many miles on my 26 Fordor since 2004 when I last did major engine work and new bands. The trick is to follow instructions on getting the bands shaped right - use the newer band return springs, and keep them set on the loose side - my pedals are just off the floor. Dragging or too tight is what causes the heat which causes cracked drums.
