seat upholstery question
I am re-doing seats in mid-late 1930 Cabriolet (fixed seat) and after removing 100 or more staples and tacks now I see bare wood and rusty springs. Do I paint the springs good rust resistant paint and leave wood frames bare, or just paint it all black. Advice for judging, please. I do see no staples are allowed and I think I got rid of them all.
thanks

Re: seat upholstery question
The few unrestored examples we've seen, the springs were painted gloss black,(probably enamel) and the wood frames unfinished. Some wood frames had the body maker (Murray, etc) name stenciled on. Some springs were attached to frames with scrap top or other material remnants on one tn sedan observed..
