I like the old look.im thinking of clearin over my paint instead of repainting the whole thing.then you have to worry about it getting scratched!

Oil or paste wax. It's important to keep rust at bay so that pitting doesn't happen. The old timers put a slap of oil on everthing at the end of the season.

I don't consider it ugly but my coupe was restored in 1959. I've had it for 40 years so it's a family member. Great handling car thats seen thousands of miles. Many of them on the interstates. Some of the paint has worn thru and doesn't look like a show car but it has a box of Blue Ribbons. The next owner may rerestore it but not me.

If this is UGLY then I love ugly. As the result of his untimely death in this last April I now possess the car Jerry Parr WI (my father) posted a picture of. I lived with and loved this car. As he had stated it was restored in 1959 the year I was born. This was the first car I learned to drive. I am going to do everything I can to keep this one in the family. And with any hopes I will be in fact the next owner who re-restores it.

Do you want to drive it or do you want to look at it between waxings?
Paint those fenders and live in fear of running kids, parking lots and that first scratch? Not me, I'd leave it and love it the way it is.
If you clear it, do a small test area first because I don't think you wil like the look. I would just oil it.

Jerry, Jr. -- sorry for your loss, but glad you have such a great car with a long family history to help keep your father's legacy alive.

on our unrestored Coupe I clean off the bare metal spots with Ospho and touch up the paint with an artist's brush. 10 feet away it looks great.

where the lacquer repaint has peeled off the dull original enamel I just put lemon oil on it.

Jerry, sure sorry to hear about your dad. The coupe looks great just as it is, and I wouldn't think it would need restoring in your lifetime. I've seen other Model A's that were restored in the 60's and still look great.

My 1930 AA has the original paint, what's left of it and I go over it with a can of WD40 every year and just love it that way. But never leave it outside.

Hi,
This spring I was able to purchase this original 28 Roadster. It still has the original paint, pin stripe, top, side curtains, and trunk lid. I plan to keep it as an original car. I will be collecting some original parts with patina to match the car. Jim

I like ugly, too !
I keep my original paint '34 looking decent by using TURTLE WAX ICE. It gives a good wax job, to resist rust and it does NOT chalk up in the cracks and crevices !

Nothing more beautiful than a car that has been allowed to age gracefully. I would rather find another wife than paint this car.

Hi Tom,
This roadster was built at the Twin City Plant and has always been a Minnesota car. I purchase the roadster from the third owner. It has a trunk lid with the original T handle. The inside of the trunk area still has most of the original paint. It looks like the trunk was never used. Thanks, Jim

Thank you guys. Maybe you are right. As long as she runs good and as you said looks good I should drive her the way she is. That way no worries as I like the way it looks now.
