Early 29 Tudor and title question?
I don't know if this is a fair question guys, but I brought home another project today and I'm not looking for an exact price, but I have an early 29 sedan body and good title (only) and wondering what is a fair price for buyer and seller?
I won't say it's a 10, but I don't believe its a 1 either, just looking for a realistic idea? Maybe not a fair question? |

mndodge, the more photos and the more information you give us the "fairer" the question becomes.
a thumbnail photo is a start. |

Having a problem with pictures, but both doors have rust on bottoms, on spot on lower cowl, no glass, I have new wood kit that was included and with good Minnesota title and with all fenders and body....I have plans for the rest.

The Tudor is a very common car.
I would say based of what I've seen on ebay, 2500 - 3500.

What does a clear title go for in your neck of the woods?

$400 for sheet metal, maybe $100 for frame, maybe (running board indicates it might be bent) $100 for radiator, maybe $300 for drive train and engine, maybe $20 for the tail light bracket As you know, Mike, without opening up the engine and trans it might just be a bunch of heavy iron, or it could be a low mileage perfectly running car, so I could be off by a couple hundred, but this is what it looks like to me from the pix. I don't see much else there. But it's not just the condition of what is there, but also what one would have to find -and do- to bring this one back.

Re: Early 29 Tudor and title question?
So, you are keeping the drivetrain and selling a Tudor body and fenders. Is the title for a Tudor, or Sedan?
Fordor as Ford called the sedan with four doors, and Tudor as Ford called the body shown with two doors. |

Re: Early 29 Tudor and title question?
Am I to understand from reading this, that the Title has value without the car?

I know of no state where you can take an old title and use it on another car of the same make and model, but it is done every day.

Re: Early 29 Tudor and title question?
pk is pickup-could have been bought separately
to answer Golden's question-why of course.... many would be glad to have one when it is "missing". get's your ride on the road. |

Re: Early 29 Tudor and title question?
The guy that I bought it from, bought it from a guy that had it as a father son project and came from Kansas where it had sat in a garage for roughly 40 years and the son was 65 at the time of the sale a year or two back.....that is the story the seller told me, so with the parts that came with I'm sure they may have scrounged a tile for it some where over time and it would make sense why it says pk.....my guess?

Re: Early 29 Tudor and title question?
That's interesting Mitch.....I always thought like you mentioned that if a guy buys an untitled A, he will spend a little on a title and I know they are floating around. I was at a swap meet a few weeks back talking to a guy with a running.......or "will run" chassis from a 29 Tudor and all that was left for body parts on it was a cowl, he said if I want the title the price is $500 more.
Then I talked with a guy this past weekend that had interest in new project I pulled home over the weekend and he wanted body and title and after talking price, he said he can get a good title for $99......so it's all over the board it seems?? I should of told him I'd take five titles lol, then I wouldn't have to look and be so concerned about the next ones that don't come with one!!! Either that or..........model A titles that sell for $500 and can be bought for $99 are the new lottery tickets in a sense......hahaaaaa! |
