Shock specs help
On the old Ford Barn site someone went to a lot of work to put together a list of shock numbers, and their specifications like length extended, etc.
I need help understanding what some of the specs mean, example; 1. Extended length, is that from the center of the eye or overall length when extended ? 2. Mounting upper has codes like EB1, or ES126, what's that mean ? 3. Lower mtg codes like ES24 & ES128 ? 4. Upper eye, either 1/2" or 5/8", I assume mounting stud size. I have the list if anyone would like. I will have to fax or mail to you unless someone can coach me how to scan it. Thanks Ford Barners, Russ |

Re: Shock specs help
I downloaded the attached list (.pdf) from Monroe. It shows compressed and extended lengths as well as diagrams for the end types and thier respective codes. The diagrams are a couple of pages in and should answer your questions. I found it very usefull in unravelling a hack job that had been done to my pickup. All for corners were bottomed. It is imperative that the loaded ride hieght is used when the shocks are selected.

Re: Shock specs help
Is the weight of the vehicle or the weight of the individual corner of the vehicle taken in to consideration?? Fair question??

Re: Shock specs help
I wish that Boxer would either get the ball or go somewhere else and stare. LOL. Love those Boxers.
