You should post this question in the forum section. The only "kit" I know about is from Dennis Cling at clingsaftermarket.com, (480) 777-1202. Have you talked with any local Model A club members to see what is being done in your area (and by who)? I would buy/make a master cylinder mount and buy the rest of the parts locally. See mafca.com and modelaford.org for local clubs.

Take a look at at page 15 in Mac's Antique Auto Parts Catalog or online use search "hydraulic brake backing plates" http://macsautoparts.com/search.asp?...ates&x=18&y=11 good luck, Gary

Purchase the original ford brakes from Berts Model A Center, send them to Cling's to be modified and buy the assembly kits from Cling's.

My copy of Gordon Hopper's book, Model A Ford Restoration Handbook gives detailed info with layouts. This book was written in 1966 and the plan uses a single outlet Master Cylinder. Speedway sells a dual
MC for about $35-40. I got one for my 30 Town Sedan. A word to the wise, when welding the MC mounting plate, don't weld a continous bead vertically on the frame. Someone did on mine and it's not a problem, Yet! However, the frame is weakened at this point. The only kit you'll need is a set of 39-48 backing plates and associated parts. The brake lines and fittings are standard from any AP store, Good luck with it!

The old master cylinder has a flaw...down the the parts store...the front brakes are cool...the back reservoir is flawed...so wait a little more....gotta find which reservoir my father in law bought to make an easy match up...almost there...I can give you a list of what we bought and from where...took photos of the job and lucky for me I have a friend from MAFCA Apple Valley As who is my know how guy...he has done this before and was a mechanic who retired...well he still is a mechanic....he is great. Pat Lambert...without him....it'd be sitting there....

Why not put the money into setting up the original mechanical correctly? Hard to beat a properly set up original system, or slightly modernized with brake floaters.

Turns out they used a master cylinder from a 1975 Cadillac or other GM product...I went to Napa and they figured it out right away. Adding a link to the brake lights activated by the hydraulic fluid. So, we are getting there.."I am waiting for Pat to feel better from his surgery because he has the knowledge first and foremost and he has a trick for bleeding the brakes...I can tell you that all the parts were purchased from Speedway and Macs...spent about 2500 dollars or so. The front brakes grab so well even with the faulty master cylinder that I am super excited about finishing up. I will post photos ...this weekend since my wife will be away...no honey do's...so I'll have time to start posting...kris
