Default Canadian Rear Motor Mounts

I have ended up with a set of Canadian rear motor mounts. Seems I remember someone saying that the Canadian Mounts were better than the American counterpart but I cannot find a reason why. Did I dream that or are there really advantages to using the Canadian mounts.
Thanks

Default Re: Canadian Rear Motor Mounts

The forged mounts are stronger and very rarely crack, if at all. They are stronger due to the location of the supporting web. The pressed steel mounts were used on 30 models in Australia, and every set I have are cracked, where as every set of 28-29 forged are straight and crack free.

The cast mounts have the ability to pass the taillight wire through them rather than over. Cast mounts have a hole through the centre, as pictured. I have never known a cast mount to break.
