Fuel Gauge
Noticed a wet mark/stain on the floor under the dash about where the cable tube ends. Felt up inside and it was wet. On checking the fuel gauge there is fuel showing, like a miniature fish tank. Not seen that before, not supposed to be like that is it ?

Re: Fuel Gauge
If it smelled like gas you need to drain down past the sight glass and take it apart and put new gasket in. Kits are in vendors books

Re: Fuel Gauge
You will see gas (like a fish tank) when the tank is almost full.

Re: Fuel Gauge
Y-Blockhead - got a good vendor over here, if it`s not in stock he can get it, had a repair kit on the shelf and the tools.
Duke36 - ordered both types, just to be sure.

Re: Fuel Gauge
Bought the aluminium tool a year ago and it didn't come close to fitting, wrecked the nut.
As above, buy the laser cut tool. |

Re: Fuel Gauge
The aluminium tool I bought around a year ago, worked fine for me and also for a friend i loaned to. I did have to hold pressure against it, towards the firewall. Possibly the nuts weren't on as tight as yours tho.

Re: Fuel Gauge
If you have a cork float, and ethanol gas, replace it with a neoprene one.
