Default Bend Oregon Regional Meet

this was really a nice meet
thanks to all that hosted it
ill add some photos in several different posts as the photos are large
I lost my booklet with all the names of the participants,so im sorry that I don't know all the owners of the cars
there were three AAs in red,all were beautiful
Ron brought his red 30 express down from Calgary it was a group project
its not in this batch of photos
I had never seen a 30 express before, and here were two of them

some of the cars in the parking lot were awesome
I like the way the club now goes out in the parking lot and judges cars that wernt in the judging and then recognizes them in the banquet
they may not be restored to fine point ,but they were recognized for keeping their cars close to original and driving them to the meet
made for some happy owners

this is john Hashes best of show
I believe he got 492 points for this first time showing
look at the reflections on the body
he is a master craftsman
and for you unfamiliar with the A400
this is a correct color combination
the top and wheels, and paint are as they would have come from the factory
congratulations on your hard work John

another shot of fred driving away
just some other really nice cars in the lot
ross morgans chicken coupe looks like the chickens have been roosting on it
he has fake cracks in the fenders and tools on the running boards,
but don't let that fool you ,its a well restored car with a strong engine
he won long distance trophy ,driving the car from Sedona Arizona to Bend ,I believe 1.300 miles
he towed a Mullens trailer and brought along is wife and two medium sized dogs
he said his dogs laid on the package shelf

The AA truck from Calgary is owned by the Stampede City Model A Ford Club, and was restored by the members of the club over a period of about 15 years. It was very much appreciated by the members of our club, that Ron R. decided to haul the AA Truck to the meet in Bend to be judged, rather than haul his own personal car, which I believe was in the "vehicle hospital" anyway, with some sort of head ailment. Koodo's to Ron and his wife for the consideration of the hauling.

ron was very specific when asked about the truck
that it was a club project, and he had a placard on the trailer telling how the Calgary Club had restored it
I also enjoyed Freds company .a true gentleman

I sure would have enjoyed being there. It is the first one I have missed since purchasing my A a number of years ago. I am younger and have school-aged kids. I hope no other regionals are held after school starts in the fall.

That is a good point Lee. I think they work out best in the summer sometime and the weather here in the Northwest is more predictable.
