Default shell lacing

I will be putting my radiator shell lacing on soon (1930 fordor), and I was wondering how the lacing fits around the hood holder. That is, the part that holds the hood rod. Is the lacing in 2 pieces, coming up to that part, or am I supposed to drill out those rivets. and run it under? It stands to reason that it should be 2 pieces. Thanks! Photos would be great, but don't let it keep you from responding please.

It's two pieces. I cut in half, then start in the center and work down. To be correct, the 4 screws that mount the shroud onto the radiator go under the lacing so you might want to set those in place first as you attach the welting.
