Mallory wires and condenser
What are you guys using for wires on the 2 piece mallory caps? I have a 52 V8 I will be putting in my 33 Truck, 12v generator neg ground. Bubba sent me to Summit but they don't seem to have what looks right. I also need a condenser for my YC275E unit. Any advice?
Thanks!

Re: Mallory wires and condenser
Try "The Brillman Company"; they have Packard 440 just like we used in the old days. They also have "Rajah" spark plug terminals. As to condensers, the supply of good Mallory "Trash Can" condensers seems to have dried up. All that I have seen on eBay over the last year or so had splits in the case, which does not portend a substantial life. Because of this, I am reproducing an analog of the old Mallory brass condensers, that have a fabricated brass case and contain a modern "severe-duty" capacitor. These have been in field test for about two years, and while we had to make one revision to allow them to survive on cars with "dirty" power (generators and solid core plug wires), we now believe the units to be extremely reliable.
They are available for $50 plus $7.15 shipping. PM me if you are interested. Here's a picture : Last edited by tubman; 09-15-2017 at 07:48 AM. Reason: Grrr. Damn sideways picture! |

Several sellers of 7mm solidcore wires with rajah ends including speedway...about $35 for a set not a to bad solution. Used to be magneto wire kits around that looked real nice. |
