switch rod hole
I would like to ask a question. Why is there a 1/8th inch hole in a flat spot on the end of the '31 stop light switch movable center rod facing the rear?

Re: switch rod hole
That is a great question...I have wondered that also. I wonder if the "assembly" was cad plated and the hole in the rod was for hanging the assembled part?
However on the other hand did the AA's not have a different set up other than the cars of 1930-31? Great question. Pluck |

Re: switch rod hole
Thanks for the replies Tom and Steve; This switch is off a mostly orig. '31 P.U. truck. (narrow bed). I also found an old stoplight switch under the front seat, with a small oval decal on it marked "AMPCO PRODUCTS", presumably from the 1940's- not used, but it too, has the little flat end and hole on the end of the movable rod. I bought a new, replacement switch from Bratton's and that too has the little hole I'm referring to. I'm having my doubts as to Ford hanging this little piece in the plating tank with such a large hole on the end???
