Default 1955 ford rear window chrome

Could anyone tell me where I could get the piece or clip that holds the outside chrome that goes up the side of the rear window? My drivers side is all rusted away.It goes the entire length of that piece Thanks Herman

There is no clip on the vertical moulding. It locates onto the top chrome strip and slips under the bottom glass moulding. You could put a dob of silicon adhesive or mastic on the strip to aid positioning but there is no fastener used. The 56 uses a different bottom strip but the is has no clips either just a right angled connecting moulding.

Rick is right. There is no clip for that piece. It is a friction fit between the top and bottom pieces

The two side pieces of chrome that go up the side has a long I shaped rusted piece of metal that slips into the rubber seal it is one long piece that is almost as long as the chrome strip . Mine is still in the chrome strip one is worse than the other but the bad one is almost disintergrated and can not be used.

My 55 did not have any strip in the rubber in that location. It may have been put in by a previous owner as a means to help locate the strip. My vehicle hadn't been touched from new so it was not fitted from new.

Both vertical chrome sides had the same strip inside the chrome channel one is in better shape than the other but they do have a 90 degree angle about a eighth of an inch that fits into the rubber window gasket
