Default Early Lever Shocks

Several years ago I purchased some new A/32 style lever shocks. Was the company Sipes? Can't seem to find any information. Thanks

You probably want Bill Stipes:

I believe that A and 32 shocks are not exactly the same . . . just wanted to throw that out there.

I found his ad on the net. He advertises them as A/32?

I used them on my 32 pickup and they bolted on and worked fine. If I recall correctly, the shock body was about an 1/8" smaller diameter than the originals

Bolt arrangement is little different. That's why original ´32 front shocks are so expensive at swap meets.

Actually, it is the height or width of the shock absorbers that differs. Both the early manually-adjustable and the thermostatically-controlled (self-adjusting) '32 shocks are 1/4" taller, back to front than a Model A shock. The attachment hole pattern is the same. The back of a '32 shock has a spoke pattern to the casting while the back of a Model A shock is basically flat.

The reproduction A shocks will work on a '32 as noted above. The shock links will end up at a slight angle with stock '32 shock arms because of the narrower width of the A shock, but not enough to compromise their functionality.
