55 Ford Fairlane to many wholes
I have a 55 Ford Fairlane two door post, there are four wholes to hold the latch mechanism in the door, three of the wholes are for countersunk screws and one is not countersunk do I just put in a flat head screw in the whole thats not countersunk (all 12/24 thread) ?

The factory used a panhead, Philips-slot machine screw with a star washer for that one oddball hole. That screw does NOT need to be flat or countersunk.
Not sure about the thread. Got one out in the garage I can check if I got the right size tap to check it with and will return to post it. |

My tap says it is a #12NC, so I guess that means it is a #12-24 thread/inch, national coarse. AND all four holes are tapped the same.
BTW, that pan-head screw needs to be pretty short, because the trigger lever is right behind that oddball hole. |
