Default 49 horn ring removal

How do you remove the horn ring and cover? I have tried to press in and turn it, but that didn't work. Your help will be appreciated.

Mine was stubborn when i first removed it, I actually sprayed a little WD-40 underneath it "as best I could" and after 30 min or so, I grabbed it at 10 and 2 position, turned clockwise and counter , after a little patience it came loose..it kind of locks into a few grooves on the steering wheel.... hope this helps you..

Part of the difficulty is a rubber ring in there that is usually fried to both surfaces. You have the procedure right, push down and rotate CCW, but it is hard.
I suggest: Get a helper who does nothing but concentrate on pushing down as hard as he can on the center of the horn button. Put on gloves so you are not distracted by the metal cutting into your thumbs, and push as hard as you can right at the BASE of the horn ring spokes. Enough force is required that pushing farther out risks snapping the potmetal spokes.
When you put it together with a new rubber ring, grease the rubber in case you ever have to fight this again!
