Default Heavy duty generator advice

I need advice and ideas-

I have a '35 Ford Fire Truck built on a '35 Ford 1 1/2 ton pick up truck chassis. Several years ago the generator self destructed and I replaced the generator with a modern alternator.

Now I'd like to make it look a bit more original with an alternator built into a generator case...available from several vendors. The truck runs a 6 blade fan that mounts to the generator pulley wheel for better cooling but I'm concerned that the 6 blade fan is too heavy for modern bearings in a rebuild. The original generator is long gone, and part of the reason it destructed may have been the heavy fan.

Can anyone recommend a generator style or vintage that had heavier bearings that would support the heavier fan that I can get and convert to an alternator. Its a 6V, ground positive system. Any ideas or thoughts would help!
