Default Old Cars in China

Hi Guys
Im an Aussie living in China and in Jan of this year managed to find a semi private collection of cars just out of Beijing. Im not sure if they are appropiate here but thought others may like to see the pics that I posted on the HAMB.

Mods feel free to delete/move if thats what needs to happen.

Cheers
Pete

PLEASE NO POLITICAL POSTS - Just about the cars!

Went to the Beijing Motor Museum which was really hard to find but worth the trip.
Quite a few US cars but also some interesting local iron that could be used for customs.

Check out how this truck is driven...

Now an innovative use for an old turbo..... cooker blower lol

Finally some car art. The first is a BMW coupe made from bricks, The molten merc seemed to be Alum. Both these were at an Art Precinct, 798 in Beijing City. Yep not HAMB friendly but cool all the same.

Great photos. The cars seem to be in unrestored condition, which is good, but why didn't they at least detail the tires.

Man I wish I had known about this collection when I was in Beijing about four years ago now. We were over there to complete the adoption of our second little girl from China. She is now 5 and a living doll.

I was in the Far East in the early 50s and don't know where they were hideing these cars. Most of the cars I saw were Toyotas and Hondas that looked like copies of Crosley cars some were useing Methane gas generaters mounted on the back useing chicken manure for fuel.

Hey forever4 glad to be walking in your footprints. We are exploring importing old cars but it seems problematic. By chance do you have contacts for the guys you visited, would love some local input

The Packard things are probably Ruski Zis and Zils The toothy slab sided things I have seen in book and were called of all things a "Red flag limosene" and are Chinese made
