Model A tires
Is there any reason why no one makes radial tires in Model A sizes? It seems like they'ed be a hot seller.

Re: Model A tires
Because they would look like crap on the car, certain vintage cars only look right with the tires they were designed with. Model A's are one of them.

Re: Model A tires
There are USA made radials that look similar to bias in classic car sizes. The name is Excelsior Stahl Sport Radials. Coker is the USA agent. They cost plenty but if they wear as well as most radials the cost per mile should be less than bias.. A friend put the Excelsior 19's on his phaeton..the car handles almost like a sports car, the limit being the suspension. The tires stick like glue during lane changes at 65. The ride is pretty impressive.

The tires on your coupe look like 16" ???? To me the 16'" look a lot better then the 19" or 21" JMO . Last edited by Louis; 03-11-2012 at 03:19 PM. |

Re: Model A tires
Wow! I clicked on that link and the tires are $303 each!
That would have to be one hell of a tire to justify that price. I need 5 for my pickup and pretty badly too. What else would be a good choice.

Re: Model A tires
Nothing wrong with the Coker economy tires. I have them in 21" and they cost me $206 installed and balanced, for a set of two. I have heard that they are a bit out of round in the winter but I have not had them do that for me. I run a little higher pressure than most though... The coldest I've driven my A in was a bit below zero.

Re: Model A tires
I think I saw them somewhere for $235..... Classic...? maybe, When Johnathan got them for Sofi he paid $1200 for 5 mounted and ballanced. They are nice but to rich for my blood, I'll pass on the Nylon too, I'm sticking with polyester.
