Default New wheels?

I have a 47 Bus.Coupe with 15"" wheels look like smoothies cannot find any part numbers.Orderd rear hub caps for 47. Will not fit due to axle end sticks too far out of the wheel. As far as I can tell I measured the back space of the wheel to be 3". Any ideas as to which wheel and supplier to use? I looked on speedway and jeg',s that left me totally confused. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Kingskid.

Can you post a photo of the wheel and hub?

Don't have a pic of the hub. It does have the original banjo rear end under it. The axle end is about 3" long. Which prevents the hub cap from seating in the center. Thanks Bill. I will try.

I originally was running with '47 hub caps on my '38 truck. The caps are about 2 1/8" thick and the raised center they mount in is another 2 1/8" (back of wheel at hub opening to raised center) giving a total clearance of 4 1/4". Could be your wheels don't have a raised center that is big enough. If that's the case its just the design of your wheel centers not the backspace. I had Wheel Smith make my wheels and they are good people to work with.
