Re: Front crossmember for a 56
Ad says doesn't fit the 55 and 56 Ford just 54 Ford and 55/56 Mercury. I wouldn't have guest that. Anyone know the difference?

Try Tee-Bird Products in PA. They had some in stock, don't know if they still have any.
If your a member of the HAMB, some one on the 1952-1959 social group may have some plans for one.

Re: Front crossmember for a 56
Here’s a post by JeffB2 over on the HAMB. Note the last comment questions the measurements. Also IIRC the Hot Rod Reverend might have had something on one of his rebuild blogs. HHR is on the yblocksforever site, I don’t recall if he’s here, amd Jeff is here, but I think he moderates the social group on the HAMB. If no one give a good answer it might be worth tracking them down.

Re: Front crossmember for a 56
It looks like Tee-Bird products bought up all the Goodell cross members when they closed up, lately if you look them up on their site you will probably get the familiar " Out of Stock" notice as is common in today's world. I posted today on my HAMB 1952-59 Ford group to see if anyone was going to make them, as some have discussed doing it. A couple years ago there was a post in a Ford Group that a guy was doing them on demand his phone number was 1-(919) 471-8942 If you call them let me know if he still is and roughly the cost.

Wow on that eBay price! Whenever I get to my ‘56 Meteor I thought I’d just scrap the extra frame... not gonna do that now!

Re: Front crossmember for a 56
I had a buddy of mine weld mine up several years ago - I too thought I was going to have to replace what I had. Since he welds for a living I had him take a look see and he encouraged me to cut out the rot, give him templates to weld in patches, and he would come help me out. He cut out the patches from left overs at work, I cleaned up the cross member like he said, and then in just about 30 minutes he had it all welded up.
I wrote a blog post about it on my website and also included a brief video. You can see all of that here: https://www.hotrodreverend.com/post/...on-blog-part-4 If you go back one post earlier to part 3 you can see the assessment and all and how bad it was when we started.
