Regular Gas Prices around the nation...
Today I went into Walla Walla, WA (Southeastern Washington) and on the way home I noted all the gas stations and their price of "Regular" gasoline.
The lowest was $3.15/gallon with the highest being $3.35/gallon. Average of $3.25/gallon. How about your area on "Regular" gasoline? Pluck |

Re: Regular Gas Prices around the nation...
Up about $ .10 / gal here since last week... running about $3.25/gal for the cheap stuff.
Who would ever have thought it would cost over $30 to fill-up a Model A ? |

Worn, tired and pointless. Must be a million of these threads. If we'd had the internet in the 70's, we would have complained about 33 cent gas-I did. Please, let's move on. What, are you not going to buy it?

It seems to have spiked a bit since things in Egypt came to a boil.

Any excuse to raise the price.

Re: Regular Gas Prices around the nation...
Here in British Columbia reg gas is $1.12 per litre X 3.78= $4.23 per US gallon
...so with our dollar at 101.10 means you'd pay $4.27 here for a US gallon. I'm not certain why US gas is cheaper, although I DID hear a rumor that it's watered down ...just like the beer Last edited by Craig Lewis; 02-12-2011 at 02:04 AM. |

Re: Regular Gas Prices around the nation...
It just went down some here (south Jersey), was 2.95, now 2.91 ---and they put it in, you don't have to get out of the car.
Diesel went up--3.39, and I just put a diesel Benz on the road, but it is still cheaper to run at 30 mpg, the same car in gas gets 15-18 mpg |

Re: Regular Gas Prices around the nation...
$3.29 in Northern Illinois, haven't been over the line (in Wisconsin) this week but they're generally a little cheaper. 5window made a coment about us complaining about 33 cent gas, I swore I would quit smokin when they hit 50 cents a pack didn't quit til they were $8.50 around the city (Chicago) strange how much I'd pay to kill myself. I always said I was as sharp as a marble.

Re: Regular Gas Prices around the nation...
I filled up in metro Detroit on Thursday afternoon at $3.12. I live about 50 miles outside Detroit and Friday morning it was $3.25 in my small town
Now just this morning (Saturday 12th) I noticed on TV that - mostly due to the status in Egypt - crude prices have fallen from over $90 late last week to about $85 this morning. I wonder if the gas prices will come down as quickly as they went up??? Yeah, right. BTW, I'm not really complaining about gas prices. Compared to a lot of you and especially those outside the US, we don't have a lot to complain about! Federal and state/provincial taxes and regulations often impact gas prices. My daughter lives in the Vancouver BC area and they make a weekly drive down to Washington state to get gas. Maybe not the "right thing" to do but it costs less to drive the 100 miles or so and fill up in the US, than to buy it in Canada. At least we can get gas! Remembering the 'good ol' days' of the early/mid 70s when the oil embargo hit and gas was scarce. I got out of the Air Force in late '73 and took a job at a Ford dealership in metro Detroit. My job was driving to the Ford depots for daily parts orders. I'd have to fill up the shop truck every morning before leaving town. In the spring & summer of '74 when the embargo was in full swing if we didn't get in line at the station early, we were SOL (s**t outta luck) & had to watch the gas gauge and hope to find a station someplace that still had gas (fat chance)! I remember coming in an hour or 2 early, I'd grab the shop truck then go wait in line at the station for an hour or more. Gas was hitting close to 40 cents a gallon and people were panicking. Stations started limiting sales to 10 gallons per car/person and I saw fights break out at the pumps! I was glad I lived close to work and didnt' have to drive my car very much. I did a comparison to my wages back then:now. The price I pay today takes a bit less of my hourly wages, compared to what it did in '74. But that's just me, as I felt I was making a fair wage in '74 and I am today too. It's got to be tough for those who are struggling in the current economy, & might not have a decent job & paycheck. Hoping things will get better soon! |

Re: Regular Gas Prices around the nation...
Electricity is about 15cents/ KWH on my home bill. That means my next used car, about 10 years from now, will be a real energy suck-hole. Instead of burning the oil directly, we'll have a middle-man turn it into electricity first. That way we can belch CO2 out of one humongous stack instead of a million little pipes. Everybody will feel good about it then.
