Default Is this a 35-36 light?

I bought this the other day at a thrift store. thought it was a 35-36 light but when i got it home the trim ring is different. the buckets are exactly the same as 1936 ford but this trim ring wraps around the lens a bit more and is wider?? It has a sealed beam in in right now. maybe it is an early conversion to a sealed beam? My goal is to find another trim ring like this and I need to know what im looking for. any help please? thanks!

well the mounting is something that was home made I just havent taken it off yet. The bucket is the same size as the car buckets i have compared it to. I think it may be a car bucket with a truck or pickup trim ring. Thank you for the help I may be getting closer to cracking the mystery

19-C . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
That shell looks like it could be a '35-6, but that mount is strange, to me. If it is a Ford shell, it should have a Ford script and verbage on the front-top.
The '36 trim ring is wider that the '35. It could be that. Compare to a known one.
MIKE........

thanks mike. pay no atention to the mount it is a home made welded "thingamajigger" i just havent removed it yet but there is a threaded bolt like the original 35-36 The buckets are identical to other 35-36 buckets I have its just the stainless trim ring that is puzzling me. in the post by 1oldtimer it looks like i might have a truck trim ring? were truck and pickup buckets the same as car buckets?

36 glass lens is more bulbus [more rounded] than 35 which is shallower and more flat when viewed from the side. trim ring is wider on a 36 also. Buckets might be the same. ken ct.

Its a passenger car light. truck lights are not as deep and pointed in the back. The trim ring from a passenger car will fit truck lights. I switch them all the time.

It appears to have a sealed beam in it, and unless it's a conversion that has been installed I'm guessing that its from 1940-41 truck (3/4 ton and up) or a COE from 1941 right up to about 1947. The 1940 lights were non adjustable, however the later ones were. The basic buckets on these trucks were identical to the '35-'36 cars. Need to disassemble and see what's inside. Post some more pic's of what's there if you're still unsure of what you have. Good luck.

I think you've got it aced. 1940 only tho, and not just the COE but all trucks 3/4 ton and up I believe - 1941 went to the adjustable style that had a whole bunch of extra stuff inside.

The ring is from a 40 big truck. I have sealed beams in my 35 PU with 40 big truck retaining rings. Looks original, but it is not.
