It sure is. Appears to be a 1941 or so, just like this one:

Not to beat a dead horse (Pardon the pun,...) But below are links to film coverage of the Old Mans funeral,..... once again, some of this was on the Old Man's orders.
Please note:,.. if you find this kind of thing offensive or disturbing, please don't click the links, as one is film of the open casket. http://www.bing.com/videos/watch/vid...KVR5&FORM=LKVR http://www.bing.com/videos/watch/vid...VR5&FORM=LKVR4 http://www.bing.com/videos/watch/vid...VR5&FORM=LKVR2

Re: The Funeral Of Henry Ford: Part II
" Henry believed in capturing all the history that had passed us by, As well as history in the making. He was obsessed with it."
Wasn't it Henry Ford that said: “I wouldn’t give a nickel for all the history in the world. History is more or less bunk.” He sure was an enigma wasn't he? |

And it went "History is more or less bunk. It's tradition. and we don't want tradition. We want to live in the present, and the only history that is worth a tinkers dam, is the history we made today" Later in life, When he was bringing together what would be Greenfield Village / The Henry Ford Museum (AKA The Edison Institute) he was practically possessed with the thought of preserving American history,.. And was quoted as saying,.. " I am collecting the history of our people as written into things their hands made and used.... When we are through, we shall have reproduced American life as lived, and that, I think, is the best way of preserving at least a part of our history and tradition..." enigma ?..... Okay

Re: The Funeral Of Henry Ford: Part II
In the first video (http://www.bing.com/videos/watch/vid...KVR5&FORM=LKVR) you can see 1949 lincolns, Fords and a Mercury. Did anyone in Henry's family die in 1949 that would have resulted in this video?

Re: The Funeral Of Henry Ford: Part II
There have been literally hundreds of books written about Henry Ford.
The first Henry Ford book I read was the Robert Lacey book. An easy read, very enjoyable, the easiest to find and the cheapest at under $10, in Fine condition. For something more than just an easy read, Allan Nevins is the Ford Historian to read. Three volumes, known as the "Ford Trilogy" is known as the ultimate in Ford History. Volume 1- Ford, The Times, The Man, The Company. 1954 Volume 2- Ford, Expansion & Challenge. 1957 Volume 3- Ford, Decline & Rebirth. 1963 The Ford Trilogy set will run $200+ in Fair condition. Alan |

Re: The Funeral Of Henry Ford: Part II
Last year I was in bed sick...after a couple of days I started reading a book about Henry Ford, it was about 2" thick.....I never put it down.If Hollywood had come up with that ,you would not have believed it...what a time to have been around(if you were rich that is)...it was a real "Can Do" era, totally amazing what he and his compatriates got up to.The arial photo in the book, of the Rouge plant taking in raw materials and spitting out finished cars at the other end is unbelievable.
I would love to visit the Greenfield museum some day . Not so sure he was a nice guy to know, but what the heck, he made some damn fine cars and trucks. |

Re: The Funeral Of Henry Ford: Part II
moefuzz, I'll bet you can't name a Ford book in your library that isn't also in mine, and I am far from claiming I own "most" Ford books.
You are a true glutton for punishment if you enjoyed "Public Image". While David Lewis is a most respected Fordophile, this book is without the shadow of a doubt the driest, most boring book I have ever read. The thing that does interest me though, is the great looking chrome V8 in your picture! I'm a Newbie here, where do I get one like that? |
