Last Year For A Full Size Business Sedan ?
What was the last year for a Ford full size Business Sedan (no rear seat)? I've seen a 1960 but did they build them in 1961? If so I'm looking for photos of a 1961.

Re: Last Year For A Full Size Business Sedan ?
According to my Encyclopedia of American Cars, the last Ford business sedan was made in 1960, and was a Fairlane trim level (not the Fairlane 500). I've found this book to be pretty darn accurate in the past.

Re: Last Year For A Full Size Business Sedan ?
Wow very interesting. My first car was a 1960 Ford, base model 2 door Fairlane with no options unless the heater was considered one. But it did have a rear seat. Paid $50 for it in 1965 and drove it home. It was a 5 year old rustbucket that I drove till I could afford a better car in '67 or '68. Still ran good when I got rid of it.

Yes, a '60 business sedan with the 352/360 would have been sweet ! They had the cast iron headers like the 427's etc., and aluminum intake with Holley 4 barrel, solid lifter cam and 11.0:1 compression ratio. Wonder if they built any that way. I know the engine was available in all models. Sal |
