Default What goes here?

Both my Skyliner and my Victoria parts car have screws into the upper A pillar. The Victoria has some rubber type material behind it, first picture. As you all know the digital '49-'59 catalog is incomplete and as usual, does not show anything mounted here.

Is that where the section of weatherstrip goes atop the vent-a-payne when you close the door? They have a metal backing and are held on with two sheet metal screws. Basically front of the "flipper" on the sides.... I'm not sure. Maybe the Course Parts has a weatherstripping parts explosion picture?

Cool Re: What goes here?

Not sure but on my Customline, instead of screws, two pieces of metal are brazed together. You can see the brazing in my first pic. Maybe the Friday afternoon crew decided to screw instead of braze. We all know how the factorys worked back in the day!
Could the rubber material behind the screw be remnants of the windshield seal?

I appreciate the responses but so far no. The windshield is installed in the pictures and the door seal doesn't go that far forward. You can see the retainer in the first picture. The screws are located under the drip rail and there is only one, not two. I'm not counting out some type of seal, but the one that goes above the window on the roof line doesn't extend that far. The new seal. The larger hole is where the screw would go. The smaller hole below it is for the windshield stainless trim.

Right hand drive or was the negative reversed?

It's RHD. The license plate is not reversed and obviously foreign.
